About Face |
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate, it's that we are powerful beyond measure. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? Ask instead, who are you not to be? Follow me on Twitter @bcavanaugh or take a moment to see what made me do an about face with my career: My New Gig |
Smart busy women are everywhere running companies, raising families, pursuing dreams and making it happen. Who are the people in your life you want to celebrate?
Before Twitter, I relied on Angelique (in Florida), Carol (in Los Gatos), Polly (in San Diego), Mary Nell (whereever the hell she is these days) Courtney, Val, Tina, Jen, Arin, Aunt Eileen (in Bozeman) as my sounding boards, my contrarians, my entourage.
But now I realize how many other amazing sources of insights, advice, friendship and comfort I have in Twitter. This morning, I created a group called “smart busy women” in TweetDeck and the list is amazing. Everyday, I learn from @fuzzyredrobe, @karaswisher, @swapmamas to @pprlisa and artful, busy women like @aliciacaine, marketing experts like @feleciaslattery, @lisahoffman and @chriscolvin and 200+ amazing, intelligent and super busy tweet-hers.
In a picture-paints-a-thousand-words style, my “American Gothic”-ish photo of me and Arnie scratches the surface of what makes me and my friends new and old and those yet to come, smartbusywomen. Read on and add:
- Choosing an amazing partner that is engaged in all that you do apart and together
- Living in a place big and bold enough to contain all the things you’re passionate about
- Surrounding yourself with inspirational people, culture, experiences, animals, nature that reflect the best in you
- Diversifying ourselves so we can engage, share, learn, grow
- Challenging ourselves physically, intellectually, spiritually
- Loving every minute of life with kids, family, friends, work, community
